What you say is certainly accurate. My inclusion of milk in the discussion, although I realize it contains 11 gm of lactose (whole milk), is a nod to the traditional offering (over at least 70 years) of milk in American public-school-meal programs. Whether that is driven by Big Dairy or not, I am sure the answer can be easily discovered.

I realize Big Dairy is the same folk who dutifully took ‘excess fat’ from whole milk when fat was adjudged by the medical community to be a bad thing; and then made untold fortunes producing and selling cheese products. A significantly-higher profit margin than milk. I wish I could find a simple, whole-milk, cottage cheese which does not contain added sugars…
